FIFA President Gianni Infantino has urged nations around the world to name one of their stadiums after the late Brazilian football star Pele following the announcement of his death by his family a few days ago.
The "king of football," Pele, passed away last week after a battle with colon cancer.
Recall that a 24-hour public wake for the three-time World Cup champion started on Monday at the Santos Urbano Caldeira Stadium in Brazil.
In his remarks to the press at the parade, Infantino suggested the ideal approach to honor Pele and his contributions to football.
The FIFA president declared, "We're going to urge every nation in the world to name one of their football stadiums with the name of Pele.
The funeral will be held privately among family members at his final resting place in the Memorial Necrópole Ecumênica cemetery.
